Internal Family Systems (IFS) for Trauma Healing : Practical Tools for Clinicians
6.0 CREDIT HOURS
Course Overview:
This 1-day training introduces you to Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy through the lens of trauma treatment. You'll learn the fundamentals of working with protectors, exiles, and Self, while exploring how trauma fragments the internal system and how IFS provides a compassionate, non-pathologizing framework for healing.
Through clear explanations, case vignettes, and experiential exercises, Stacy Ruse, LPC, will guide you in using IFS interventions to:
- Stabilize and regulate clients before trauma processing
- Help protectors unblend and soften their defenses
- Support exiles with witnessing and Self-energy
- Apply unburdening techniques for trauma healing
By the end of the day, you'll walk away with a practical toolkit to bring IFS immediately into your clinical practice, whether you're new to the model or seeking to reinvigorate your trauma work.
