Course Overview:
For skeptics and believers alike, this course examines the artificial intelligence tools now available to support professional mental health practice — systems for marketing, client communication, education and simulation, session transcription, record keeping and billing, diagnostic and treatment planning assistance, and direct service. It begins by defining AI and locating today's tools on the arc of its development, then applies beneficence, non-maleficence, autonomy, and justice to each use in turn. The course closes on what is coming, what it will cost, and what practitioners can do about it. No products are recommended; the aim is a framework participants can apply to whatever arrives next.
Presenter:
Kathryn Krase, Ph.D., J.D., M.S.W., Principal Consultant with Krase Consulting, is an expert on professional ethics and the intersection of ethics with legal responsibilities. She has years of experience consulting with government and community-based organizations to develop policy and practice standards.
