About This Course

In this comprehensive 3-hour recorded webinar training led by Ann Marie Roepke, mental health professionals will explore Trauma-Informed Supervision (TIS), an essential extension of trauma-informed practices(TIPS). Participants will examine core principles such as safety, trustworthiness, choice, collaboration, empowerment, and cultural considerations, crucial for recognizing and addressing the impact of trauma that supervisees may have experienced. Throughout the session, attendees will gain practical insights into identifying trauma signs and symptoms, understanding trauma reactions in the supervisory context, and implementing healing-centered supervision models.

By the end of the training, participants will achieve key objectives, including describing the six pillars of Trauma-Informed Supervision, recognizing models of anti-oppressive supervision, and mastering communication skills tailored for trauma-informed supervision sessions. Additionally, attendees will learn effective tools for addressing behavioral change and combatting burnout, vicarious trauma, and compassion fatigue both at an organizational level and within the supervisory relationship. This training equips social workers and professional counselors with actionable strategies to enhance their supervision practices and better support supervisees affected by trauma.
