Vermont social workers, are you preparing for your next license renewal and the updated continuing education (CE) requirements?
The next renewal deadline for Vermont social workers is January 31, 2028. During each renewal cycle, licensed social workers must complete continuing education hours that support ethical, culturally responsive, and effective practice.
Beginning in 2026, Vermont introduced an important new requirement: all social workers must complete at least one hour of continuing education related to systemic oppression and anti-oppressive practice. Courses focused on topics such as cultural humility, implicit bias, or cultural competency may satisfy this requirement.
On-Demand Training That Meets This New Requirement
To help Vermont social workers meet this requirement conveniently, Elevate Continuing Education offers the following on-demand course:
🔹 Cultural Humility: A Foundational Approach to Anti-Oppressive Practice (1 CE Hour) This recorded training directly addresses Vermont’s requirement related to systemic oppression and anti-oppressive practice and can be completed anytime.
Upcoming 2026 Live Webinars That Also Meet This Requirement
If you prefer live, interactive continuing education, several upcoming Elevate CE webinars also address cultural humility, bias, and anti-oppressive practice.
These trainings may be used to meet Vermont’s requirement:
May 8, 2026 – Implicit Bias Training (3 CE Hours)
August 7, 2026 – Navigating Bias with Cultural Humility (3 CE Hours)
September 10, 2026 – Cultural Intelligence and Trauma (3 CE Hours)
September 25, 2026 – Navigating Bias with Cultural Humility (3 CE Hours)
October 9, 2026 – Implicit Bias Training (3 CE Hours)
October 27, 2026 – Cultural Intelligence and Trauma (3 CE Hours)
Live webinars allow Vermont social workers to engage directly with presenters, ask questions, and explore practical strategies for integrating anti-oppressive practices into clinical work.
